This monograph is a retrospective undertaken by EXPRESSION and co-produced with the Musée d'art de Joliette. The retrospective was presented in two parts, first at EXPRESSION, from March 24 to May 6, 2007, under the title Triturer le temps: une rétrospective , part 1, then at the Musée d'art de Joliette, from February 1 to April 26, 2009, under the title Temps de glace: une rétrospective , part 2. This retrospective was complemented by the individual exhibition Hautes et basses œuvres de bouche , presented at l'Œil de poisson, from September 7 to October 7, 2007.

An interdisciplinary artist, Claudie Gagnon has been offering ambitious and fanciful works for nearly 20 years. Designed mainly as theatrical interventions and tableaux vivants, whose artistic quality lies in the finesse of the accumulation of everyday objects, her participatory works bring the viewer into the spectrum of sensations to better question the ups and downs of daily life.
