This publication was produced on the occasion of the exhibition Ed Pien. L'antre des délices , which was held at the Musée d'art de Joliette from February 10 to April 27, 2008 and at the Mendel Art Gallery from January 22 to April 4, 2010.
Whether through his drawings, his paper cut-outs or his installations, Ed Pien has succeeded for over 25 years in developing a unique phantasmagorical language. Profusely illustrated, this publication includes three original essays. A first text highlights the different aspects presented within the exhibition Ed Pien. L'antre des délices , namely drawing, paper cut-outs and installation, emphasizing the importance of each within the artist's practice. A second text focuses on the work Haven while focusing on the importance of the installation medium which is decisive in the artist's approach. A third text is devoted to the artist's graphic aspect, which has been at the center of his artistic research since the beginning of his practice.
