La serrure de cheveux et les fleurs is a collection in which Vicky Sabourin shares her experience of mourning through family stories. She discusses her relationship with death and the emotions that run through her. Writing these words allows her to remember and look at the abyss that mourning opens without diving back into it for too long. Thus, these deaths are no longer invisible and she no longer needs to carry them every day, for fear of losing them. The text is punctuated by three photographic still lifes created by the artist. The publication accompanies an olfactory box set Ce que les lys odorants tente de camoufler (edition of 20 boxes) presented at the Musée d'art de Joliette in 2021-22 in the form of an eponymous exhibition. The multi-sensory work is designed to be borrowed by visitors to experience it at home.
