About the artist's book
This artist's book was produced and published in conjunction with the exhibition In the Name of Matter . Louise Warren's Imaginary Museum, presented in 2020 at the MAJ. It highlights Louise Warren's text In the Name of Matter in a collaboration with textile artist Julie Bénédicte Lambert. The poet and essayist opens the doors of her personal collection to illustrate the close relationship between art and literature.
About the author
Born in Montreal, Louise Warren lives in the Lanaudière region. Committed to writing for 35 years, she has published numerous books of poetry and her essays focus on the experience of creation and the work of art, including the Archives trilogy.
She has participated in numerous international events, in Europe, South America, New Zealand and Japan.
Louise Warren received the Literature Award for La vie flottante. Une pensée de la création, as well as the Télé-Québec Ambassador Award from the Grands Prix Desjardins de la culture de Lanaudière 2016. This essay was selected as a finalist for the 2016 Governor General's Awards in the Essays category. In 2018, she received the Creator of the Year Award in Lanaudière from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
