This publication was produced in the context of the retrospective exhibition of the artist Monique Régimbald-Zeiber, Les ouvrages et les heures , presented at the Musée d'art de Joliette from February 1 to September 6, 2020 and at the MA, musée d'art (Rouyn-Noranda) from March 26 to May 16, 2021.

Between the exhibition catalogue and the artist's book, the book Les ouvrages et les heures contains texts by Monique Régimbald-Zeiber and the curator Anne-Marie St-Jean Aubre, as well as the textual and visual contributions of 11 authors and artists invited to react to the exhibition.

Many illustrations and exhibition views at the Musée d’art de Joliette are reproduced there.

This book is a co-edition of Éditions les petits carnets, the Joliette Art Museum and the MA, art museum.

About the artist

For thirty years, Monique Régimbald-Zeiber has been developing a painting practice that questions the construction of the gaze and history, particularly that of women. She does so in and through intersections of painting and writing. Her works are part of various collections, including those of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal and the Galerie de l'UQAM. They have been exhibited in Quebec, Canada and Europe. In 1997, she founded Éditions les petits carnets with Louise Déry.
